Hi all, I moved into a role in marketing about 9 months ago and they let me know they were starting me off at $42k CAD because I was entering with no marketing background. Now that I've had time to learn more and show my abilities I wanted to get a feel for what Junior marketers make so I can ask for proper compensation when the time comes.

I got an offer at Nokia, and my new manager said that she wanted to put me in the higher salary bracket however the HR insisted that we lowered the range. There’s also an equity component: 0.15% of current fully diluted equity. This equates to about 30000 shares at a strike price of $2. They also indicate the preferred stock price is $6 and preferred stock equity is $188k (whatever that means). They are in the middle of a new financing and valuation round.
