Hi All,
I joined Tech Mahindra for 5 days only and didn't find suitable timing for my project and emailed resignation mail to manager and HR. After that HR asked me to resign over portal but at the same time blocked my portal. After requesting many times they didn't unblock my portal and pretended like they want to unblock but there is some issue going on and marked my profile absconded. I have cleared fnf but they are not providing reliving letter but added pf amount also. What to do?
Are timeshares worth it with spg?

I am a second year Asc and I realized EMs, APs and partners have shitty WLB. It’s a cultural work expectation to be ‘on’, work late, etc. After reflecting, I realized I really do want a job that ends around 6pm every day, can focus on family, hobbies, and less stress overall. That’s just not something that exists at McKinsey so I plan to leave
Figure out what your goals are first. Hard to know when is a good time to leave without first knowing your goals.
8months into McK I realized I didn't want to be a partner so I left. Ppl told me I was insane to do that. Since then I've done startups, VC and now PM. Staying longer at Mck wouldn't have helped any of those.

Your placement will depend on pre consulting exp as well, higher in consulting doesn’t always mean it’ll translate directly to industry as a guarantee
I’m of the mind that you would regret leaving so soon. That’s a pretty coveted place to work, and it may pay off to wait a little bit longer.

Pros:
-You’ll likely exit at a much higher comp after promotion
-You can “skip” a slow promo in corporate
-You get quick ppl mgmt experience
Cons:
-You have to suffer bad wlb for a while
-Options become more specialized, less generalist opportunities
If you realized you don’t like the work and think you have a better shot at finding what you’re looking for elsewhere; don’t stay just because others expect you to. You live once.
Now - if you think you can reach EM and you’re ok with spending marginal time there, yes it will open incremental opportunities. If you hate consulting and / or already have an exit that excites you, then don’t waste your time doing something you hate.
I think if you don’t want to stay to partner it’s worth getting to EM/PL so you can prove to others you’ve got the chops and there is no question if you were counseled out. In your case it’s only 6 months longer. I don’t think there is any benefit to staying past that promotion and waiting for P/AP
Thanks all for the perspective. My situation is that I do not want to stay in consulting long term, but I am also unclear on where I want to end up. So not sure about when I should make a serious and concerted effort to move out, and thus how to evaluate any incoming opportunities.

If you don’t know — I would recommend staying and getting the promotion then decide again once you’re 6 months into the EM role.
Now is not a good time in the job market.
