At least start growing a beard
They have a pretty good guess od your age if you listed when you graduated college and assume that you didn't have a gap.
Did not list my graduation date. My experience started 2011 and I graduated 2015. Worked all 4 years of college full time.
Lol, I have a thick beard, D1.
Don’t worry. Excel at your job.
Super worried that when they see my age in background check, perception will change and they’ll start nitpicking my background way more.... thoughts?
Don't think they will see your age in background. They only look to see if what you said is true. Managers don't care about that stuff like age etc
^ obviously I didn’t tell them I was in school in evenings while working all those 4 years.
Then you are covered
Don’t tell anyone if they ask either, I know someone who never told anyone their age because they knew everyone was older than them.
Hey OP, I’m 36 and got my undergrad only 4 years ago after leaving the military. A SC now and older than even my SMs.
I have no issues with my manager being 8 years younger.
I’d only be puzzled if they were so concerned about the age difference, because then I would question their maturity.
Trust me, your direct reports won’t care if you’re 18 as long as you’re getting the job done. If anything, the older they are the more accepting they will be.
You would have more beef with a 26 or 27 year old direct report.
Hope this helps. I think you will do great!
Appreciate that, D2.
