How the fuck are you making 110k in public sector? SA2 or SA3?

How much are you making now?

Around $110K

Not as much as you think

like

Do you have an MBA?

like

If you are starting at 110K, they way just get you as close to the starting point of the band as possible. So likely ~120-135K is my guess

like

When you talk to your RP and they give your salary, they are supposed to provide that info verbally. It's been a year or two since I left and I know there have been some attempts at parity and transparency, but my guess it not much has really changed. If you are a non-MBA promote to manager you probably won't clear 135K as base

like

You'll lose your mind trying to figure why someone makes one thing and you and someone else makes another. Part of the problem @ pwc... wonky bands, wonky rationale, inconsistent application of whatever the hiring or pay evaluation criteria is, the wind is blowing east today... you get my point...

OP will probably end up around 125 and they'll tell you be grateful 🙄 let us know how it turns out!

like

I know seniors in public sector making $120, so $110 is not off at all. And the seniors I know making $120 don't even have that much experience

like

Keep us posted, OP. Good luck!

like

Oh and this is D.C. Area.....

😂😂 I'm so sure KPMG1

KPMG 2 any context around that?

Thank you FC1! Public Sector. PwC 2 thanks for the feedback! Accenture2 I have a Masters degree but not an MBA.

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. I would appreciate any input!!!!

I am writing this message besides the staff group of EY GDS. Specifically Staff -1 at assurance level. I would request everyone to spare few minutes and read it -

Wanted to bring out that staff-1's are paid peanuts (3.33L CTC) please don't expect them to slog 12-13 hours. They don't have enough motivation or incentives to work that long. Seniors,AM's and Managers should be more kind and explain the work to them clearly rather than making last minute changes.

$325k TC at MBB in a non-generalist (still partner track) path. Love the intellectual variety, smart colleagues, flexibility (WFH has let me take occasional 2-3h windows during the day for personal activities) - can’t take the stress anymore. Are WFH industry roles at the $300-500k TC level really that much less stressful?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
