Agree with others recommendations. Also stay up to date on SEC rulemaking by subscribing to releases from SEC (although under current SEC who knows if/when we will have a new disclosure rule ever again). Sign up for law firm memos/alerts from outside counsel. Intelligize from lexis is critical for benchmarking of filings/disclosure
Mid level securities lawyer here in private practice - I find PLI to be a great resource as well as corporatecounsel.net. Can also follow Broc Romanek on LinkedIn and his disclosure transparency blog. I’m also happy to be a resource (feel free to DM!)
I’m not in house, but I practice SEC reporting at a firm. TheCorporateCounsel.net and Section16.net are the best resources. Intelligize is also key for searching for precedent!
thecorporatecounsel.net, if your company has access to it. Getting familiar with just the form instructions themselves (reading through the 8-K instructions to see what triggers 8-Ks, looking at Qs and Ks and related S-K reporting requirements, etc). Some IPO guides that large firms put out will also be helpful in providing some high level insight on related topics that may fall under public company reporting in a non-obvious way.
Thecorporatecounsel.net
No this requires a subscription but it’s totally worth it.
