Just get it started . Both eb2 and eb3 have long long wait times so it does not matter immediately . Once you get your 140 approved , you can eventually reapply in eb2 and still retain your priority date . Most firms help you reapply in eb2 after you reach a certain level

Does PwC not apply green card for managers? Also is there a firm policy on when they apply for a green card - are there prerequisites like apply after a year or at some level of performance?
Got it OP ... you are one of the exceptions. 2 choices, either wait to eventually get pushed up into EB2 , which will eventually happen due to the long wait time we ALL have to experience. Or 2nd option is find another job, and hope they sponsor.... u r better off sticking with PwC for now mate

They did mine in eb2. Ask for exception process. Better to explore other options than file in eb3
If it's possible go with EB2. Definitely faster than EB3. If you can convince them or switch then awesome. But you also have to find the right company to file the EB2. There are quite a few crooks in the consulting industry so be careful out there.
There have been cases where people have ported from EB3 to EB2, so that may or may not work for you down the line. Also things could change in the future and you may not be able to port who knows. Better to go with EB2... Just my 2 cents.
Basically what D2 said - more imp to get out of the H1b limit. You can always change to EB2 either through this or some other employer.
Hey OP - if your country of birth is India, And guessing you are an SA, they should be applying for EB2.
PwC in general only applies green card for SAs. And since the runway is so long for Indians your perm gets applied for a manager role. Keep in mind your perm application is for a future role, not your current role. Happy to explain if you need more clarification
I am an experienced associate. Was working in an engineering role prior to moving to my current role. I don't do the typical consulting (M-F travel) role. More into engineering finance.
Yup there is ... typically they will only initiate if you satisfy following conditions- atleast one year with pwc, at SA or higher lever, tier ranking of 3 or higher. Check under immigration in link index on kcurve
OP - if you are an EA, i'd be surprised if they would even begin applying. Unless a partner explicitly gave his approval as an exception
@PwC User 2 - The process has been started and it does have the partner approval.
How many years of exp you have ? EB2 and eb3 depends on this too.. you might have masters but 0-3 yr exp.. then it might fall EB3...
