Not a salary freeze. HR assured me I am getting the raise I asked for. But she also confirmed that the Advisory did not do so well, so numbers are tight.

Since when can HR give you a raise confirmation before even the roundtable?? Since when can one trust PwC HR?? Since when does PwC treat its people well financially?? The firm always have an excuse for not rewarding us!

Ok D1, I'm not sure what that means. I asked for a raise because I'm underpaid and not getting promoted. Long story, but I trust my team on this. They know I will leave.

Ok so this is an anomaly - no one else talks to HR- they have 0 power without Partners.

And I hope that HR was not the source of this rumor

Yep, original convo was with partner, then joint with HR and partner, then a call with HR. Not my problem most people don't know how to step up and fight for themselves. I'm glad to be an anomaly.

I work at a small firm in NY and recently we’ve had several attorneys on the team leave so that now I’m basically the only associate left. Work is picking up again after a slow January and I know I’m going to be absolutely crushed since all of the associate work will fall on me now. I’m still very junior so how realistic would it be for me to successfully ask for a raise or increase my compensation to the next level up?

My current job as a accounting manager on a small team (5 people) is not too demanding during months 2 and 3 of each quarter. However on month 1 following the quarter end we work Saturdays (all day until 8pm) and during the week usually until late night (11pm) to meet reporting deadlines. Is it like this for all publicly traded companies?

To add - I am in a HCOL city making 110+bonus and I have a toddler who I wish I could spend more time with.

I'm in need of some advice. I am a Store Manager. Im paid salary and have a manditory work week of 50 hrs. I have been with this company going on 4yrs (1 month cashier, 1yr assisstant manager, and just short 3yrs store manager) In the 3yrs ive been in this position i think i can count on one hand the amount of weeks ive work less than 80hrs a week. Almost double my manditory most times more than that. The company just says keep up the good work. Is there anything i can do? Is this normal?

I recently switched job and joined another B4 firm. As part of the hiring I was promised with a sign on bonus. Now I have received the sign on bonus twice, in back to back paychecks. I know I have to somehow return the second bonus to the firm. Does anyone know how taxes work on this? As both the bonuses were tax deducted prior to deposit, when I return amount do I need to pay back the withheld taxes to the firm as well? Asking as the amount is big and don’t want to go in the IRS route. TIA.

Hi all, negotiating with HR on salary for a new AS position and want to know what’s fair. I was an AE for two years, took a promotion at another agency for SAE for only 8 months and am now being recruited for AS at 80k. All of my agencies have been large, I’ve worked on pharma and a large global account, I also started “managing” at the AE level due to my team’s structure. Is $80k fair? Thanks!
