No! Don’t give notice until after the bonus is in your bank account. In fact when you return from vacation, don’t even give a full two weeks notice
Don’t. They can chose to pay out your vacation and let you go early. That way, you may become ineligible for the bonus. Come back, then give 2 weeks. I waited for a week after bonuses to give my notice
They will not pay your bonus if you give your notice prior to receiving your bonus. You can absolutely give up on that idea.
I agree with SC1. If you give your notice now, they might just let you got and save on paying out the bonus.
Give it while you’re gone
Give it after you see the bonus in your account. Anything else and you give up control and are hoping for the largesse of the firm
What if new role starts oct 1? Same boat
The minute you give notice they try to push you out asap (e.g., 48-72 hours later in some cases). Don’t give notice until after bonus day. Trust me, it’s the difference of a few days.
I was in banking before consulting. Day that my bonus was in my bank account, I disconnected direct deposit (not sure if this would actually do anything but it sure made me feel sly 😏) and gave two weeks.
If bonus means that much to you, which for most it does, why accept to start a job that puts the bonus at risk? To me, either start later or have new job match bonus.
