Question for logistics & operations managers. What's the biggest obstacle keeping you and your coworkers from performing at your highest level?

The biggest obstacle is a lack of resources. We need more money to buy better equipment, hire more staff, and expand our operations. Without the necessary resources, we are limited in what we can achieve.

For me, my biggest obstacle is our suppliers, we are a small company therefore we cannot afford to deal with the most responsible suppliers, therefore we have irresponsible suppliers, despite this I play with time and we almost always comply with our clients.

You always have a new obstacle as a logistics manager, in our company it has gone from the suppliers that have already been settled to the distributors, right now we have problems with our vendors, they are not achieving the necessary sales and we have not been able to empty the deposits.

Well for my company the biggest logistical problem is our CEO, he is a disaster, he offers impossible delivery dates and makes the whole company work under a single order that he offered to a new client, obviously the order is not achieved in the time that he tells and we usually lose clients, but he always has new lies for new clients.

I plan to lateral to another firm in the same area of law (insurance defense, south FL). The pay at this new firm is better with prospects of becoming partner, or at least growing with the firm. My current firm is a mess. I know they will be an even bigger mess when I leave, but I just can’t take it anymore. The thing is—my boss is wonderful. I’ve come to care about the firm and him so dearly. It’s other things at the firm that are making me want to leave. How do I break it to him? (Cont’d..)
