Off topic: I am stuck in a service based company for last 4 years in a shitty project. The work I do can be done by a 12th grader. Now i want to move out by learning something new & changing my domain. But the thing is I am not able to study because I am stuck in a comfort zone and learning new thing gives me bad anxiety. It feels like I will never learn & be forever stuck here. Pls help on how to come out of comfort zone, learn things and apply for the job. Tata Consultancy Infosys Wipro

No. Do better things at your current job. Also don't ask people who want to go to B-school. They don't know anything.
If the sole purpose is to boost your resumé: no.
I don't think it'll help, for all the reasons stated above. But I will also add in an anecdote from my own experience. I got a Bain interview at HBS. Bain interviewer looks at my resume and asks what Oliver Wyman does. He had never heard of us. I didn't know if he was joking or not, so I said, in as straight a face as I could, "management consulting..." 😂😂😂
Business schools want to see continuity. Better to build stronger relationships at the same place than to keep hopping around
I mean there's no way to guarantee it one way or another but you have to be able to "tell the story" of why you made the switch. Saying the work isn't interesting (as much as I agree with you, like 75% of the time) might not cut it
Why does everyone suck OW's dick? They are a spin off of mercer
The work seems better there too but I would be resetting my network... And my promotion opportunity as well. Not sure if it's worth
So it'll hurt more than help in terms of b school apps? Still def considering it cause the work seems to be more interesting
It would likely hurt. B-schools want to see progression-advancement. If you'd be resetting, it would not be a good idea.

Lol gotcha. Well I'm on the "consulting" side at Accenture and that's different from strategy. Also Accenture kind of sucks at strategy. It must be better at OW?
I'm not a tech person and they staff me on tech projects...
I'd rather do CCAR 😅😅
Wait, you want to do CCAR? Just say that at the interview and I'm sure OW will hire you. We have so much CCAR work and not enough people who want to do it. We do have strategy work, but in FS these days, there's a lot more CCAR than strategy-type projects.
