It really depends on your lifestyle and where you want to rent / if you’re willing to have roommates. It’s better I give you some ranges for rent and you can figure the rest.
These are downtown prices
1bd in decent areas 2100-2500/month
2bd in decent areas 3000-3800/month
Vancouver has a great skytrain system if you’re willing to rent 20-30 mins away (e.g. Burnaby and Marine Drive), it’ll be slightly cheaper but very diff vibes.

Honestly, it is a pretty big range but I think what I've landed on is $2000 at the minimum, and that won't get you anything nice so you gotta up the budget eventually
120k for a 1bd. 120k and a sexual partner who makes 120k for a 2bd.
Have you checked Zillow or Craig's list? I'd say if you really want a solid 1-bedroom place you need to be spending about $2,000 a month on rent
I'd go straight to the source and shop around on Hot Pads or Zillow to see what you can expect to pay in what neighborhoods.
I second Craigslist for best data. There is a huge range.
OP…trying to reconcile salaries you see come over your desk as a recruiter with cost of living?
If you can drive, and don't mind a long commute to save money, I would explore towns further afield. You "can" get the same quality of rental for half a Vancouver price.
