Meaning how do you start looking for a new job and interviewing?
There’s absolutely no reason your team should know or need to until you resign.
There is an opening at a current client which I am really interested in but the client lead is very close to VP of my team. The client is a small-ish team and we work with the brand folks - I am scared that my VP will get to know
You should read through the paperwork you signed when you were hired. There may be something stating you aren’t able to pursue a job with a current client. And I’m 99% certain all clients sign a non-solicitation agreement in their MSA.
I haven’t seen an account person jump to become an agency client on the same business in my 20 years so you may be the first.
Would really just start looking for roles and letting recruiters know you are looking and they may find you.
Tread lightly. You might end up at the losing end of both sides.
