lol How are you even considering this? Do NOT take that job. They just told you everything you need to know about working there.

Give them an out. Ask if it being the same salary was some sort of mistake. If they say no, graciously bow out, while making it obvious why. They’ll realize they completely dropped the ball.

If you all wanted an update, did exactly this. They didn’t budge. I’ve moved on lol Thanks for the advice!

Their budget is their budget. Maybe they thought you were just asking for at least a title bump since they couldn’t bump money.

I think that’s 100% what it is.

They know what they’re doing lol

Don’t take it

Your best path forward here is to tell them the salary is what you’re currently making, so you feel it doesn’t reflect the increase in responsibilities enough for you to justify leaving your current role. And then ask to have a word with your current CD. Tell them that you’re happy where you are and want to continue to stay there, but, at the same time, you’ve been getting senior-level offers that have been difficult to turn down. Ask them if there’s a way for you to move up without leaving.

Can't decide if this thinking is crazy or smart: Staying in consulting for another 1-1.5 years for good maternity healthcare benefits and smoother pathway to ramp off and back on work, with opportunity to extend leave further with limited professional risk (e.g., in corporate a backfill might become your permanent fill). Worried that this A.) could result in staying much longer than planned B.) would still ultimately result in crazy consulting hours and C.) wouldn't go as smoothly as idealized
