What’s better comp structure for competing job offers if the total is the same (or close): 1) higher base salary or 2) higher bonus + retirement contributions
Anyone had experience leaving for an industry accounting role such as a senior inventor accountant or senior ppe accountant? Are you most likely stuck in that area for future promotions or new jobs?
What’s a reasonable answer when a small, independent agency asks what your desired salary is? Info on Glassdoor is limited given they’re all smaller. For context, I’m a junior with just a little over a year of experience so v green. Thanks!

Does it feel like basically our only exit op is operations work to anyone else? I’ve been interviewing for 6+ months now and these are the roles I’m getting steered toward. I want to stay far away from ops & risk tho so I keep turning them down cuz it’s just so damn boring

Tax Senior 2, how much are you getting offered for industry jobs in NYC? Total comp/salary/bonus details appreciated
Can't decide if this thinking is crazy or smart: Staying in consulting for another 1-1.5 years for good maternity healthcare benefits and smoother pathway to ramp off and back on work, with opportunity to extend leave further with limited professional risk (e.g., in corporate a backfill might become your permanent fill). Worried that this A.) could result in staying much longer than planned B.) would still ultimately result in crazy consulting hours and C.) wouldn't go as smoothly as idealized
Hii! Anyone kind enough to share a template of their financial planning? I.e., budgeting, expense tracking, investment planning. Or point me to a good one available online? TYSM!
looking to spend a night in NY for thanksgiving. Any recommendation on which hotel to get (using Bonvoy Points)
Anyone have advice for talking to teachers in your school that are upset with you? My 4th grade class didn’t show up today because the teachers are upset that student behaviors that are an issue in music are carrying over to their classroom. I understand their frustration, but nothing was communicated with me. I even thought things were going better this week.
How much weight does brand name consulting firms have on top MBA programs? For example, is it significantly better to work for MBB firms vs. big 4 vs. well known specialized boutique firms?

BCG/McKinsey green card policy?
I received an offer from KPMG as an advisory associate (75k), and a second one from Grant Thornton as a transformation consultant (70k). Im leaning towards the KPMG position, however I’m wondering about salary negotiations; the Grant Thornton position is in a state where cost of living is 15% cheaper than that of KPMG, and I am also in the process of obtaining my MBA (one more semester left). Any way I can leverage/utilize this information to negotiate a higher salary with KPMG?
Thoughts you'd give to a high performer at a small firm in the suburbs considering jumping to b4 in a big (and new) city? Risky move? Chance of a lifetime?
