Definitely Accenture.
Depends on what you want. Deloitte and ACN are neck and neck for tech consulting which is heavily saturated with cloud deals. ACN overall focuses on tech where Deloitte has been trying to become a bigger player. Honestly, I think ACN progression is a little faster but D seems to pay better.
You will not get wlb at deloitte
I work 14 hours a day on my project and have been for the last year and a half. I’ve tried everything to get pulled off the account. I just put in my notice to leave the firm and have accepted another offer
Progression will be faster at ACN. You can make it to M quicker and from there the exit opps are much better (either to other consulting firm or to industry)
You can get to almost 130 base in 2 years at Accenture (Consultant promo)
Management consulting, not strategy. 85-90k base as a new analyst, 95-100k base at senior analyst (after 1 year), 126k base at Consultant (after 2 years). Granted, these are salaries just for SF and NY, so might be a few k less for other cities. I’m a recently promoted Consultant (2019 grad) and this was my exact experience - every single person from my start class also had this same progression, so I’m not an outlier. Once you make Manager (usually minimum 4 years) you’re well into 170-180k base, low 200s TC. Strategy is similar progression but you start out at ~100k base as an analyst. Feel free to DM if you have any questions
Rising Star
Probs ACN. Do you know where in Deloitte they're going to put you? Advisory or Consulting? If it's Advisory, stay away.
Why stay away from advisory?
What were the salaries you were offered?
Accenture.
They were both for the consulting practice. Deloitte was 85k while Accenture was 80k, but Accenture offers performance bonus and a much better 401k match (4.5% more on base salary).
I’m biased, but I’d say for early career compensation and WLB, Accenture is superior. Not sure you can get to ~130k base in just 2 years at Deloitte while also not having to grind after hours all the time. All my buddies at D say they get worked to death
