I’m starting to have pandemic flashbacks…my company is doing fine, but I think back to March 2020 when my last company’s CFO assured us we had close to two years of runway and then 10% of the company was laid off in April. Sucks to know that your role is always the first to go in times of turbulence.

I didn’t realize layoffs have been happening in the legal industry. Maybe it isn’t as common as it has been posted on here. If anyone is going through a tough time, you can always reach out to me here.

I got offer from vmware. I recently joined a company about 6 month back and If I am switching vmware in short time, I wanted to have a long term (~5 yrs) career with it. Techskills wise, I am good and learner. I heard recently, vmware layoffs particular team at China even though they have good tech skills.

Should I join with VMware ? Or should stay in current product company ?

11-2 lunch and nap
2-3 : sometimes meetings, mostly begging people for billable work
3-4:30 - proposal work if I have it or more job hunting
5-9pm family time and dinner
10-3am - netflix, videogames, cry myself to sleep

Hey BCG, first of all congrats to the PLs. We’re all jealous over here. Have seen a lot of ranges like 290-350k for a 1Y but that includes 401K which we don’t count in our cash comp. What’s the final breakdown of base + bonus for target 1Y PL? Ours was around 180+60 last year so only 240 total. And that doesn’t even take effect upon promotion, only at EOY
