Hello!
I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.
AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?
I hope my morning coffee cart guy is OK :(

That’s the name of the game unfortunately. At least they responded to you.
For legal reasons and/or efficiency, they often can't be too specific unfortunately.
They may have proceeded with a more senior or seasoned candidate, in which case this feedback would still hold true.
Had a similar experience :/ got rejected after final round and was told they wanted someone with more experience. Not very constructive, i guess you really don’t have the experience. But given that they kept you for that many rounds, not sure that’s the reason.
Cont'd.. for the opportunity and requested whether I could get a feedback exactly why I was rejected. the recruiter received the feedback from the interviewers saying that they are looking for more depth of experience at this time. Isn't it a very generic feedback? I really hate such feedbacks. Shouldn't the feedback be a little objective?
Just being honest — from your writing it sounds like English is not your first language. Perhaps they thought this might be an issue but thought it would be politically incorrect to say so.
Generally job interview feedback is rare and, when given, not specific.
Having been on the other side, I can tell you that if you have proceeded past the first round, your capabilities are not in question. So there is often not a specific reason, but more of an overall impression that one candidate is a better match than the other.
