Recently I finished building my book and even won a few student awards. I’m now almost at the end of an agency‘s program. Been trying to find an internship in NYC to kick off my career right after this, but it’s been tough.
I did get a couple of interviews at some great agencies I admire (I regret not applying to more), for a moment I thought I could do something but it wasn’t. I’ve been seeing MA or VCU grads getting those positions on LinkedIn. Relocation or a 60k MA program isn’t affordable

Our industry needs to change the way it does recruiting. We make it impossible for people to apply directly to agencies. Relying on employee referrals gets good "culture fits" at the cost of diversity

Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .
