Recently joined Big 4 in partnership tax, but my background and long-term goal are in corporate tax/provision.
I now have a chance to go back in-house at a large company.
Only a few weeks into Big 4 — feels risky to move so fast, but direction seems clearly better long term.
WLB also matters with family plans.
Would you stay in Big 4 for brand/promotion speed, or switch now since alignment is there?

So I have family situation I've been dealing with and yesterday at a company function outside the office, my supervisor brought it up in front of a bunch of people. First-year tax staff that started end of Q3, and just had my first year-end performance evaluation meeting. Still a blank slate in terms of tax experience, but I honestly do have a slight interest in international tax. Brought it up and I was given some names to find some work opportunities in that area. I’m having trouble working in Tax. I’m overwhelmed and am feeling like I’m not producing my best work.
