Yes
but 60k is pretty low for S1, unless you live in idaho or north dakota
I’m not trying to sound like a dick, but can you really be a controller after 2 years?
I don't get questions like this. Pick what is most intellectually stimulating to you! No one can tell you that but yourself. Not worth it to get paid $95k if you're going to be bored every day. But if it's interesting to you and exciting, go for it.
Even if PA is stimulating some of the time it's still not worth it for the aggravation and pressure
Wtf that’s too good to be true if you live in the middle of nowhere with litttle experience. You’ll be ballin if you earn 95k in the middle of fucking Ohio.
I'm in a low COL area
What questions should I ask the recruiter? Is it worth leaving public to go to such a small company?
Nope. Stay. Industry is not fun like PA
Honestly you’d probably be in WAY over your head as a traditional controller. Some companies use the term “accounting manager” and “controller” interchangeably, so that’d make a lot more sense. Ask some clarifying questions about the role to understand
If you think you can handle it, do it! That's a huge pay increase. You can ALWAYS go back to public accounting. There's virtually no risk in leaving.
You're unqualified stay in PA
Do it OP!!! You’ll have the title on your resume and be able to shift in two years if you don’t like it. You will not make up that pay differential unless you make partner in 4 years (you won’t)(the 4 year thing is a made up timeline for “really soon”)
Controller after only 3 years of experience means something is wrong and you'll be the bait.
What are the role responsibilities? Any staff development required? I'd be shocked if a new senior is ready for that role even in a small company unless you have prior work history.
