I think that’s what is paid by Omnicom. You combine that with short term disability and other things and it should come out to around 16. You can ask them for more details on how it works. Just say you want to know more about family planning and maternity benefits.
You only get 2 weeks of leave covered if you’ve been there for less than a year but I’m wondering if I can negotiate that
Ahhh. I think it depends on if you’re ok with taking unpaid leave to extend that time or potentially losing the offer if the negotiation doesn’t work in your favor. (As much as I hate to say that… from personal experience my HR team was a bit of a nightmare and I’ve been here a good while) I haven’t had any experience with my peers negotiating but I’d like to think they’d need to hear you out to prevent any discrimination issues. 😪
I’d be shocked if Omnicom only gives 2 weeks of leave?! Maybe 2 months? If you live in New York, then New York has legal minimums too. It has to be more than two weeks.
Worked at an omnicom agency when I found out I was pregnant - since I was there less than a year I wasn’t eligible for the full coverage benefits, and legally wasn’t covered by NY FMLA either. So it’s not just Omnicom’s policy, but also be mindful of state laws
It’s a tough ask to negotiate for eligibility flexibility as whatever exceptions they make for you, they will need to do for future similar situations. Check what your state covers.
I’m currently on mat leave at an Omnicom agency, it’s 16 (or 18 for cesarean). VP Strat 1 is correct, that it combines with STD, so The Hartford would cover what Omnicom doesn’t.
But check with your recruiter as well, I remember something about eligibility differing if you’ve been at the company less than a year.
