What was your industry experience? Capgemini will never do strategy they lied to you. That being said EY doing strategy is also not exactly a regular thing.
Also as a side note - are you trying to be partner somewhere? Implementation fees > strategy, much nicer lifestyle
Industry experience is in operations. Would rather not say more because I’ve already voiced my concerns and it’s a small world. I don’t mind implementation but currently in an attempt to keep me billable I’m doing implementation work as opposed to leading teams that implement- step backwards. DM if you want more information.
Either jump to EY or try to recruit for another role — I’m an ex-cap employee and they usually do large scale staff aug initiatives that span years to generate revenue, if you get stuck in tech implementation you won’t be doing the type of work you want so might be easier to recruit now, honestly I feel like recruiters and hiring managers are more receptive rn bc of the pandemic and everything happening
If they have put you in a role that forces a step backwards you need to move. Exact same thing happened to me recently and I got straight out of there. You will kill your momentum and CV. Acknowledge that the whole industry is moving to implementation, but you need to be leading and not doing
Agreed. I have a strong reputation in industry, but consulting always appealed to me. Namely partner type salaries and prestige, real or perceived. I have a standing offer to jump back to industry at a high level, but consulting “seems” more fun if I’m not working at a body shop-that’s the term right?.

Were you recruited to Apps or Invent? Massive difference in the work they sell and the long term offerings.

I have more questions but it would probably give away who you are. But yeah, depends on the practice you were assigned to in Invent.
Supply Chain : implementation
Procurement : strategy but flexing to implementation.
S4: implementation
P&O: strategy
