In a rapidly growing practice, and perhaps 2 years from (non-equity) “partnership”. I like my team and the work I do, but I’ve only ever been a consultant and am tempted to jump to industry to try it out. Interviewing for a Fortune 20 company and applying to others. Maybe FAANG. Let’s say I’m 60% driven by comp, 40% driven by impact. Am I crazy for looking to leave? Should I just continue to ride this one-way train?
Has anyone received equity as contingency comp? I have a potential client with a founders dispute. He doesn’t have cash, and the other founder ripped him off and is now running the company. He wants to sue for equity and wants to pay me with whatever equity he wins. I’ve never done a deal like that. Is that even enforceable? CA law. The startup is actually quite promising.
What’s the avg comp for Medtronic/Abbot pricing and contract analyst? Both senior and non senior roles.
Hi, I had my Accenture HR round last Wednesday and everything was discussed, from salary structure to usual HR interview questions. I am yet to receive any communication for further processing including my BGV and rest of the process. I called the HR yesterday and said I will receive further communication. Can someone please tell me if there is a chance that they will send me offer letter or any further processing and if this is normal for Accenture to take time after having HR round?
A little over a year ago, I posted about my boss making constant comments about my salary. Most comments said I must not have been performing well. I want to update that he was fired, not me.
Has anyone signed an offer letter and later rejected because you got a better offer elsewhere? I received an offer from B4 and have to provide my response by tomorrow. I’m still waiting to see if I will receive an offer from a smaller firm, because that’s where I actually want to work after learning about the project and meeting the team. Also the salary we spoke about is about $20k more than what B4 offered.
Looking to get a few certifications, I have worked in both IT and HR consulting and am trying to decide between ITIL, SHRM, and PMP. Any thoughts on which would be best for future, quickest to get, hardest test? I get the cert paid for and a bonus upon completion, so trying to decide which one to pursue or the order if I want multiple.
Any word from Deloitte on bonus and promos?
Got a verbal offer for a job that I want. The offer is pretty good too, more in line with the work I want to do, 40% raise in base salary, and other benefits are roughly the same. Waiting on the official offer, to come on Monday. The problem is, Stockholm syndrome is real, I keep feeling bad for leaving my team as busy season is kicking off. What are ways to deal with this “guilt”?
For those of you who had to deal with a salary decrease as a result of Covid, how quickly was it reinstated? Did it make you want to leave the firm? Are you concerned it will happen again with the uncertain economy?
Fish, need advice. I received an offer $5k less than the lowest number in the salary range I provided the recruiter. Isn’t the rule of thumb to not move for less than a 30% salary increase?
At what point do you talk salary with a recruiter? Want to get it out of the way because if expectations aren’t in line no point in continuing discussions, but don’t want to bring it up too soon?
Typical SC base salary in Charlotte?
Expecting an offer from a tech company in SF. I joined my current firm less than year ago and if I leave I have a clawback on my bonus. I had a relo bonus $15K and a sign on $10K.
So do we assume after today's comp call that an Associate/Senior in a struggling practice will get VC if barely hitting adjusted utilization goal?
For data science roles, senior (L6) at AWS or post MBA level (specialist track, so same pay as generalists) at MBB? Comp is 20% higher at AWS just to start. But maybe looks like MBB has better upside - solid path to promotion to manager level with solid comp increase. But worse WLB and it's unclear to me whether MBB data scientist on the resume is up to par with big tech data scientist on the resume. Coming from big 4 so I am considering brand so I can do better with future resume screens.
At this point all I care about is salary what would result in your opinion most money •CFP •CPA •prestigious MBA •CFA •CAIA •coding boot camp I’m at $85k now
How do I pay the visa scheduling fee from the US and don’t have an account in India/anyone to pay over the counter? Screenshot for reference ✌🏻
Taking medical leave because of my anxiety and depression issues. Need to figure out what to do. Perhaps an intensive outpatient program. Terrified of what’s to come
What does each firms performance review process look like? I’ll kick off - we have individual case reviews after each case and each 6 months we have a formal consensus review process where all seniors in the level above you discuss each candidate and their rating / promotion decision if they are up for promotion. We also have these mini consensus reviews at the 3 months mark as well within these 6 months to discuss off cycle promotions. What do you like / dislike about yours?
Do you spend your entire per diem? Or do you prefer low-cost food options (chipotle for example) and save the rest of the per diem?
What would make you choose a 3 person firm with less pay/benefits over a BigCo? I’m hiring in the new year and I’d love some thoughts from you all. Thanks!
CISSP CPE question: Does anyone know if a Udemy AWS cloud practitioner certification course can be leveraged for Group A CPE credits on ISC2? Udemy provides a certificate with hour totals, but I didn’t know if ISC2 frowns upon these courses.
First week WFH observation: 👩 no longer wash their hairs and no more make up 👨no longer shave
I know it's early to even mention this, but has anyone starting preparing lessons for the fall? I want to create a remote learning webquest (how to use remote learning tools) so that students are prepared for anything.
Nearing the two year mark at EY and am considering starting to prepare for MBA apps. Have had rewarding experiences with great teams so far at the firm but would love to challenge myself a bit more...
If I remove someone from a channel on slack, will they be notified of who removed them, or only that they've been removed?
It seems Campaign article on parental leave has made many rethink their attitude on the subject. Shame on you for only changing when you feared for yr reputation. And not when employees demanded it.
I need serious advice. I’m so sick of the one matrimonial site I’m on. Any suggestions on which ones actually work? Any success stories from those of you who went this route? 30F fwiw.
Laid off. Applying to jobs. Besides networking, what are the top job search platforms/websites? There’s LinkedIn, indeed, monster and Glassdoor. Anything else I’m missing or which is the “best”?
Have $300 to spend from my firm on home office accessories! Honestly at a loss to figure out what to get... Already have great chair/standing desk, keyboard, mouse, headphones, monitor. What can you all not work without?
How bad would it look to quit my job in October if I am applying to business school round 2 (in December) assuming I can get good recs, just trying to figure out if admissions officers care?
Does race/ethnicity matter to you when considering if you would date someone? Please say your age, gender, race and answer.
How long does "not eligible for rehire" last? My AWS manager says he disagrees I was put on Focus by my skip level (Focus is a coaching program before Pivot aka PiP), and if I leave now it's automatic "not eligible for rehire."
