Searching during economic uncertainty has brought an extra layer of pressure and it’s been mentally exhausting. I feel like I’m going to take a position out of fear rather than alignment but at this point I need any role. Do you recommend taking anything and continuing to apply for something better or will this come back to haunt me?

By the tone of your post I'm assuming you need a paycheck ASAP so take whatever you can get. You can always adjust your resume to give yourself the best chance of finding the next job. I've taken jobs that ended up only lasting a month so they were omitted from my resume all together. They only thing that will come back to haunt you is getting kicked out of your house because you didn't take the job that was offered.

Looking for some advice on how to branch off into a job in tech. I’m a Mechanical engineer interested in working in a big tech company. I have some programming experience but excel mostly in mechanical and product design as well as 3D CAD. Was wondering if any other mechanical engineers have managed to make the shift from a traditional mech job to a tech job and if you could give me advice on the best path that worked for you. Thanks!

Quick question.
I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?
