Is cash out refi worth it? Quoted $3,000 in points and $1,500 in closing costs to get $115K from the no-mortgage property at 6%. It’s almost 4% origination fee. But how else to find down payment funds for the next purchase?

If you can find a HELOC lender for investment plz lmk

Can you not find a HELOC at much lower cost?

It’s an investment property, so HELOC options are limited. Found 9% HELOC with 3% origination fee. Can you recommend a better HELOC option?

Sounds to me like a good way to get over-levered. Save up for the next one or wait for rates to go down.

Yes. Cash out refi is worth it if you can immediately redeploy those funds. But watch the fees your bank charges or go with another bank.

Hi all, how did you solve the retirement puzzle?

As an expat, I went on the Degiro for investing at the moment, since the account can be used from all countries.

Was considering to invest also in an insurance, but is apparently not possible if you live abroad and then maybe go back to the home country.

Have any tips?

Is it too late in our lives to jump into a mortgage?

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. We’re both 36 and currently rent a 2 bedroom in NY and have a combined savings of $35,000 which she wants to use as a down payment on a condo. I kinda just wanna continue saving while renting. I also literally just started contributing to my 401K so I’m also late in the game for that too.

For any of you real estate investors, what tools or sources did you learn from when getting started. Can’t find a mentor currently so want to find some highly recommended books or videos. If focused on the tri-state area (NY, NJ, Long Island mainly) that would be even better. My hope is to buy and rent out a apartment while also owning a house and house hacking that by renting part of it out. Trying to understand all the steps, traps, and how to find if it’s a good investment.
