Does Strategy& have a Fintech practice?
Anyone here with the Deal Strategy practice I can dm to chat? Currently an SC with 4.5 strat and Ops experience at Big 4. I want to make a lateral move to work on CDD and value creation type projects. I want to learn more about the culture, WLB, type of work across the deal lifecycle, comp, promotion timelines etc Strategy&

Going to be tough to give a meaningful response without an industry group / practice. In general FS, PEVC, Deals Strategy have a bad WLB reputation. I’ve heard healthcare does too but my personal experience in HC has been good WLB. It honestly comes all the way down to the partners and directors you work with. There are prob chill projects in every practice, just need to find a team that cares about WLB and stick with them.
All this being said, I’ve never once experienced or heard of any of the things you’ve described happening at S&. Additionally, I’ve worked maybe 2 weekends over 2 years.
Happy to talk more if you want to DM
Which country/group?
Not wrong. Very different
Culture varies by group - would need further details to assist
DMed you guys!
I have seen this here
Yes, I believe I posted something similar in another PwC group
Never have I worked more than 65+ hours… okay maybe once or twice. Heard deals strategy can get rough sometimes though
That's amazing. I think its sounding more inline with my connections on LinkedIn as well. So far I'm feeling very positive on having a long and balanced career here
PEVC also varies by industry. Some alignments are just diligence over and over. Others are mixed between diligence and misc. ops transformation projects. Diligences obvs more likely to have a burn culture.
How are the none DDs? I've had plenty of experience doing DDs already, part of the contributing factor to 80h weeks.
I was told the practice I'm joining would be not only more strategy focused but also middle of the spear, more business transformations, and even implementations (with help from PwC I'd assume).
The nature of these type of products to me typically sound more like 50-60 hour weeks. but I've also done them at OW that are met with crazy politics, unreasonable expectations etc that make them 80h weeks
Yeah see if you can talk to someone in the practice?
I’m HIA, current project has me working 15 hr days everyday not weekends tho
