Sending our 7 month old to daycare in a few weeks when my paternity leave ends. How do we get him to bottle feed again? Wife works from home so it’s been mostly nursing. Refuses bottle every time :(

Sorry to hear. This is what the nurse and lactation consultant warned my wife and I that if we don’t bottle feed continuously, the kid will refuse. Note I don’t have experience with this scenario.
2 things come to mind - 1) while kid is breast feeding, alternate between bottle and breast. May not work. 2) sometimes it’s the moms smell that triggers the baby to drink. Did your wife try to bottle feed while maintaining skin to skin?

I agree to find a lactation specialist to help. For our first, the transition was brutal. Felt like we were starving her! The second we mixed in bottle feeding from the get go so it would t be so hard. Sorry. To me it sounds like your in for a rough transition

Thanks A1. Tried 1 no luck. 2 sounds like a good idea which we can try

Make sure your bottle nipple flow is correct, I accidentally put the wrong one in yesterday and then I had a very upset baby

My advice is bit brutal. My 8 mo didn't take bottle so I kept him hungry one two time and only offered bottle. He has been good since then.

😂 way to go. I would do the same thing, but my wife will kill me.

Try to offer with your wife out of the house. Kids aren’t dumb- if the good stuff is around and they smell Mom, they will wait for it and ignore the bottle.

We’re having a baby coming this end of August. KPMG has 12 weeks parental leave. Planning to take 4 weeks in September but I can’t seem to figure out when to use 8 more weeks. I’m so tempted to do Feb-March (peak busy season for our client) but I feel completely bad cause I actually like this client/team and I know how a lot of test work is done. (Senior A.) Can I suggest to my manager that rather than taking leave, to schedule me only 40 hours during these times? Would that be unfair to others?

I have US and Can. HR designations and about 3 yrs in HR in Canada. I'm currently in a process improvement role in healthcare, but really want to work in HR. I live rurally with literally no open HR roles close by. I may have the opportunity to work in a quality lead role with my current employer, but I plan to move back to the states in the next few years and want to stay marketable. I'm searching fervently for remote HR roles that may also offer US experience. I'd appreciate your thoughts!

Advice and/or consolation anyone? My wife and I (both above average health 30year olds) were trying for 11 months before getting pregnant and then had a week 5 early miscarriage a few months back. If the stress and surprise of just how difficult it apparently is to get pregnant wasn’t enough, the miscarriage put us over. We got back to it and have been trying for the last 2 months again, still no luck. We’re freaking out… all we want is a family. Any similar stories? Advice? 😢
