Just bought office furniture for a receptionist and three offices....stalked Craigslist of a nearby wealthy community.... beautiful solid wood desks...

3 monitors is awesome! 1 I set sideways for documents and one can face clients. A high power tower underneath to run it with good internet so you never need to apologize. Area for kids. Comfy furniture for waiting. I love Canon printers. I have my kids' art and pictures on one wall to show my family side. Keurig and water.

Don’t you think this covid19 is exposing some truths about corporate world? Before the industrial revolution most of the people pretty much worked and lived in the same place. The industrial revolution brought in mass manufacture, reporting and punching time in/out at a central office. Now that seems so dated and command and control in this new era of remote work and digital online presence, services and tools. Should we go back to the old ways unless needed?

Can someone provide me your "bare minimum" routines and also - makeup/skincare brands! :)

I just want to hear the explanation for why staff who started during COVID are doing so badly on average (and I have heard this from every level including staff themselves) from the pro 100 percent work from home people. If you agree it’s real, what is your solution? If it can’t be fixed, are we just accepting that the people we expect to backfill our positions aren’t going to be ready?

Got an offer from EY India with 110% hike on my 6.9 CTC. But location is chennai because it's the client location as well and as per their director's communication with me it will be remote as of now and they can change the location later. Shall I trust them ? And how is work from home policy in EY India especially before pandemic? Shall I switch or stay back?

Any advice for those really struggling with motivation and tiredness? I’m split across three modules and feel constantly tired and unproductive. With WFH I’ve got into a bad habit of taking naps during the day, and trying to cram the work in the evening, which is somewhat okay for getting through the day-to-day, but I feel like it will all come crashing down soon, plus it leaves no time to do anything I enjoy.

My LO has an infection with high fever and my husband and I have been WFH all week to take care of her. Even though the infection is not contagious, it’s instructed by our pediatrician that she cannot go back to daycare until she’s fever free without any medication for 24h. My husband has been antsy to go back to work and has informed me that he absolutely has to go back tomorrow no matter what and we should just send her back to daycare with a dose of Motrin in the morning.

I left a litigation position for a very easy, in house kind of position and I’m afraid that I’m bored.. and not really feeling like a “lawyer.” Its not stressful, but I also feel like I’m not using my brain, if that makes sense. It’s wfh which I love, only slight pay cut.. great team. Feeling silly that I feel this way. Any advice?

I'm through to last round of an extremely cool job opp. Salary at best will be lateral but title bump and extremely cool set of responsibilities. However will only likely start in Jan due to needing to wait for bonus and security clearance check. Have baby coming end of may. Per my understanding this means I won't even get statutory pay? What should I do? Or should I just view this as missing 2 weeks of £150 (ie unpaid leave) and whatever paid paternity leave benefit org has (likely 2 weeks)

Started at a new firm in September. The firm sent me my pro rated hours requirement for the year. It includes no ramp up period (like, for example, it doesn’t factor in that my first week was full of mandatory systems trainings, etc). I was told there’s no expectation I must hit the goal, but it feels like maybe there’s an unspoken expectation that I do. Any thoughts? I’ll need to bill just over 8 hours a day from now to December 31 to make it. Doable but the bonus is also pro rated.
