If it is IT audit, then no. Please continue applying

like

I second, third, and fourth this 100%. Fuck this job

If it’s your only option and you’ve been trying a while, yes. Do a year or two then apply to the role you want. Much easier with “consulting experience” on your resume.

IT Audit -> MBA -> consulting might be an option

Really depends on the role.

This new info shifts me into the no category. Audit to consulting will be hard. If you were going from one consulting practice to another somewhat related; that may not be as bad

I’ve never seen anyone move from IT Audit to another service except to assurance. Never met anyone who enjoyed the work either

you can go from IT audit to a smaller consulting firm much easier than no consulting experience to any consulting firm

So stuck. What do I do? I joined this firm a year ago (4 yrs exp total) to grow/get more court/client exposure. Then 2 more-experienced associates were hired, pandemic, & all cases are divided between the other 2. I have no defined tasks except deficiency letters or the odd pro bono case. Boss claims it's mentoring. I still need to meet bill req.

Last wk Boss said I'll do more & my work was good, but today said I can't 2nd chair bc I don't have experience. I'm doing less now than my prior firm.

Total 2yoe in academics & 3.5 yoe in corporate (1yoe post PhD). Initially i compromised with a below 20lpa salary to enter Big4 and hometown and also to experiment if i can cope or not. But now I am confident of my estimation, leading & client handling capability. Need atleast 50% hike & possible onsite opportunity. Any lead plz.

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

Recruiter reached out a few weeks ago about an ER role. I don’t have the finance background but want to pivot. I had a first round interview that I thought I bombed but I got a second. She asks me about salary & availability to start and says she’ll try and get an update from the team. I haven’t heard & im wondering if I got rejected
