Hi everyone Google ,
I am facing interview trouble.
1. First round of interview has done
2. 2nd was scheduled on 1 july but interviewer did not join. After a few mails to hr and recruitment team one hr replied that they will reschedule it, and asked me for possible dates.
Since then i am waiting for the interview schedule as all of my given dates have been passed. I don't know how to deal with it as I don't want to miss the opportunity.

I didn’t wear a tie and I got the job when interviewing over zoom fwiw

The recruiter is not trying to trap you lol

Alright you got me! Your recruiter reached out to me to try to get you to wear business casual. We don’t hire people who fall for our elaborate traps
Shirt and blazer or shirt and dressy sweater should be fine. But remember — basketball shorts on the bottom to maximize style and comfort.
This approach should remain consistent for in-person interviews as well.
Tie in a zoom meeting?!? Narc alert
I wore strictly business casual - shirt+sweater and slacks and got the offer. All my interviewers were in business casual. I feel if I’d dressed up, the disparity with the interviewers may have been a bit awkward or made building a connection a little harder. Just my $0.02
When I interview I wear whatever I’m wearing. Hoodie, t-shirt, button-down, whatever. Don’t give a damn what you’re wearing.
I also don’t give a damn about you “building a connection” or whatever. Our interview process is very, very carefully designed to not consider whether or not I like you.

But I want you to like me 😇
What M4 is conveying, rather tersely, is that the interview process is designed to eliminate unconscious bias (eg, halo effect) and ruthlessly focus on your interview performance. Just wear what’s comfortable for you, be confident, and have fun with the process.

Yeah go try to engineer a system that removes whether or not the interviewer likes you lol good luck. It will always be a factor
I’m BCG not McK but when people wear jacket and tie to our business casual zoom interviews, there’s a clear disparity compared to what I’m wearing, and it’s a negative if anything.

Off topic question: if you have multiple rounds, is it ever bad to tell the same PEI story twice if the questions are close enough?
Coach
You will be told several times during the interview process not to reuse the same story within the same round
I don’t care what our candidates wear - I always advise to wear what you feel comfortable in. If that’s a suit, go for it. If that’s a jumper, go for it. Chances are that you’ll have me in a T-shirt and fleece on the other side.
