Sick of the 1hr+ ride from O'hare to Lincoln park area with all the traffic. Is the Thursday Midway drive any better?

I used to live in Chicago, and I generally would just take the L train to and from O'Hare. Sometimes quicker during rush hour, and way more predictable. From Lincoln Park, a bit of a hassle, as you would have to get way west, or just go to State/Lake (if I recall correctly) and catch the Blue Line there.

So much. I'm in the cab from MDW to Lincoln Park right now. 32 min projection

I live 8 miles to the north, world normally take 10 min... but it takes like 20 min to get an uber, then 20 min to get home

Midway to LP just now in 25 min

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? I love working in healthcare, there’s nothing like it.

Has anyone dealt with a therapist not being able to see you (virtually) while you are temporarily located in another state? I’m struggling with coordinating my work and when I’ll be in my home state with my sessions because apparently I can only be seen when I’m physically in my home state. Are there different types of lisences I should look for that would allow someone to treat me while traveling? It’s all very confusing…

Hey everyone - I could do with some advice. Not sure what I am doing wrong, but I am having a hard time getting interview calls. I am trying to pivot from consulting to the industry and targeting project/program management roles. I have been doing this work for 7+ years now (total YOE 12 years) so certainly have the right skillset. I have tried a couple of referrals too but that didn’t help either. Any advice you guys could provide would be helpful. Thanks!

So I recently accepted a 12 month contract-hire position at a much larger company. Pay is more than 50% of my salary, and benefits/401k is covered by the recruiting agency. I was confident in my now manager, who told me directly this will become a permanent role. However, i’m nervous about where the economy is going to be within the next year, and after getting a few linked in messages to interview for full time positions, I’m starting to second guess myself. Thoughts? Advice?

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest

I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.
