Ive done one diagnostic essay and like half of another essay. It’s hard enough finishing a novel via distance learning.
2 large essays for sophomores and daily writing prompts with one-paragraph responses. I had approximately 30 individual grades for the first quarter. Don't get too hung up on whether you're assigning enough, though. The important thing is QUALITY, not quantity, I think.
That’s exactly how I feel about it- quality not quantity. But what are you grading that you have 30?!
I don't know how that could possibly be accurate. We are just now getting into a second essay.
And, maybe they are referring to daily journal prompts?
We are closing out our quarter next week at 8 weeks rather than nine. I’ve got between 14-16 graded assignments in the grade book. 30 is just too many.
Essays are a real problem despite the ability provide feedback through docs. I have students that arecchecked out and I cannot get them to outline an essay much less write one. It is feeling impossible.
I have 5 to 8 assignments per week, but that's because I grade their daily attendance bell work questions. 10 minutes for bell work and then usually 20 minute Meets.
