Can you message with Skype while connected to Airplane WiFi?

Does anyone else have friends who lack texting etiquette? Trying to figure out if I need better friends or if bad texting behaviour is now the norm. Wondering if I should start calling them out on it more or just give up. For example: friend: “What are you doing tomorrow night” me: “no set plans yet might do a zoom call” friend: [no reply] me: “rude. happy new year” friend: [no reply]

I have Zoom job interview (not an in person) with a large multinational consultancy (but not MBB/Big 4) for a mid level role. Previous Skype interviews with them have been biz casual dress but this interview is with much higher ups and for a case study. BizCasual again or suit up? Suit seems over the top since they know I’ll be home.

I am nearing the end of my employment and will be officially laid off . Unfortunately I bought a new laptop since my old one is ancient. I expect to be doing virtual interviews and want to make sure I have the right equipment. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what type of software or equipment that would be best? We used Skype for business at my firm, but have no experience with Zoom. Is one favored? Your kind advice would be much appreciated!

Anyone has a great voice for zoom or conference call? I think some people are born with the voice to succeed during this pandemic. 😂

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. I had 10 slots to choose from. I took the first slot available. Three were one day earlier this week and the rest are next week. Does it look good (or desperate, lol) on my part that I took the first time or should I have waited until next week so that I would be fresher on their minds when choosing a candidate? Also, do interviewers still appreciate a handwritten note after an interview?

I’m a bit over a year out of college with a completely irrelevant degree in terms of my current job. I’m self taught / learned over zoom the software skills I currently have, including DevOps and particular apps where I test the logic & requirements on medical policies. I’m currently taking LinkedIn Learning courses on JavaScript, Data Science & software testing. Even with my 1YOE I still feel like I’m being underpaid at 37K. Am I expecting too much or should I be making more?

Zoom all day and sitting on my butt seems to make some hip issues flare up (despite daily workouts). Anybody else dealing with "Zoom ass"!?

Have any of your held a zoom meeting or session with parents? My experiences so far have shown me the importance of computer literacy and i think parents need a training session.

Every zoom call seems to have a beard comparison discussion. Any ladies ever chime in (even if only to make a joke to realize that there are women on the call)?

We just switched over to Webex for our internal communication. I HATE IT SO MUCH.

How do you guys deal with staff who turn in incomplete projects right at the timeline you set with them? And they then use nonsensical questions as an “excuse” for why they don’t finish their work. Also: I make absolutely sure I make myself as available as possible for check ins/zoom calls if they are stuck

I don't trust people who hide their Lync/Skype for business pictures...

Has anyone applied to Slack without a referral and got a response?
