My friend tried to get 5 more vacation days and was instead offered 15k more in salary. Wild.
Note: not consulting
I don't remember the scale off the top of my head. But believe it or not what they're offering now is sort of an improvement - at least that's the way organization tries to portray it. They took away sabbatical and added a day or two of PTO. It is your typical scale where it goes up over time. And no it's not great obviously. :-(
SC1 - Lol sounds like they did the old bait and switch- how about KEEP the sabbatical and ADD PTO? I really don’t understand some companies. Employees aren’t going to take more than what works with their project/leadership usually - PTO should really be 30 days, esp in consulting. Many companies like Salesforce have unlimited PTO, don’t get it.
No negotiation room that I've seen. It appears to be very locked down and consistent across offices.
PTO is non negotiable
SC1 - Well shoot - do you think this area will improve at all? What’s the PTO scale?
Couldn't agree more OP. :)
K1, no idea what Slalom daily resource rate are but if they're anything like mine, it probably actually makes more sense from a financial perspective to pay your buddy that extra $15k than lose 5 days of chargeable time (depending on the resource's level)
But what about the 401K match
likely no, HR will block those non standard PTO. It becomes an admin nightmare
