Slalom fish in Cyber, can you tell me how your raises/bonuses have been the past few years and how many vacation days and 401k provided. Most important do you travel?!

Not in cyber but we have a “no unwanted travel policy”, unless you’re in our cross market team or if you’re a solution owner (a blend between a scrum master and a product owner) in one of our dev centers (Slalom Build). If you’re in a smaller market the no travel is great because you commute to your local client. Large markets (LA, NY etc) this could be crap because of traffic. Raises and bonuses greatly vary, but the factors and equations that determine your bonus are simple and made transparent. Can’t remember our 401k and official vacation day policy, but you accrue PTO hours each paycheck.

like

PTO starts at 17 days. You gain an extra day every year to a max of 25. 401K is a 50% match of the first 6%. Bonuses average between 5% and 15%. Highly dependent on utilization

like

What SC1 said. Also, for annual increases I would expect 3-5% although you may not get anything in your first review cycle if you join in Q3 (depends on market).

like

Also, there is no 401K match for the first 12+ months. If you started in August 2019 you would be eligible for matching in January 2021. (the fine print I wish I had read more closely)

Good deal thanks y'all. Looking at slalom Houston right now.

Hi all,
I’m currently working for a small technical consulting start-up firm. I make good money, have great benefits, and they seem very happy with the work I’m doing, so I know I could move up quickly. However, tech consulting is definitely not my dream job. I want to get into data analytics, and I have an offer from a big company to do just that. I’ve only been at my current company for about 8 months, but I don’t ever see myself loving this job. How do I know when it’s time to make a change?

Hey, new to investing looking at initial mistakes I made. I have $1k in VOO, $7k in VT and $4k in VTI in my brokerage acct; in my Roth IRA I have $6k in VT and $7.7k in VTI. I know isn’t an ideal portfolio because many of these funds overlap. However I’m in for the long term and am willing to reposition to a strategy that will do the best over my life. Id appreciate to hear feedback on these 2 accounts and better approaches from others. Thanks!

Just got off the phone with a recruiter who asked me what year I graduated from my MBA program and college and effectively told me I was too old for the role. I do have the 1 year of experience they asked for in the job in question. It's just that I have all this other experience in things unrelated to the role or things I want to deemphasize in my next role. Is there anything I can do? I only list the last 8 years of experience (as it's most relevant) and don't have my graduation years listed.
