So 2 wks ago I was introduced, via email, to a recruiter on the .org side as my experience matched best there to start. That was 2 weeks ago. I sent 1 follow up a week ago. Nothing. Now granted, there are no roles I am looking for posted yet due to the freeze (Sales leadership is what I’m after) but I have a VP referral plus a number of others. In no way am I entitled to anything but was hoping if someone could tell me if given the above this kind of ghosting common among SF recruiters?

Currently SM at Bain (4 years post MBA) and was approached for a senior associate role in portfolio ops at a large PE fund. Been told 2.5 years to VP and another 2.5 years to director. Feels like the role is a bit junior but offers a 50% pay jump.

I recently moved from litigation to transactional and am struggling to reach billable targets. In litigation it was no problem hitting 1800+ hours but don’t see how I’m going to come anywhere close to that in a transactional role.

I’m mostly sitting around all day waiting for work that doesn’t take long to complete (though at my desk for 10-12 hours/day). Is this normal? Suggestions on how to keep busy other than asking for work and having good work product?

My joining is on 11th July. I believe I have to collect the laptop from Camac street on joining date. But after laptop collection, should I WFH as the Technopolis office is not ready? Also, how much time does it take on first day for all the formalities? After laptop collection and formalities, I am planning to return to my hometown which is 250 km away.

I have applied to 42 jobs and received 20 rejections, with 0 opportunities to even interview.

My resume is from WSO template, and I used suggested wording from various popular resume websites.

I don’t understand why I’ve gotten such a large amount of rejections. Am I applying to position in under or over qualified for? Does my resume suck? Is it just a bad time to apply? How do I improve from here?

Comforting others:
When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. My boss (exec director) and I need to come up with a schedule strategy. We work in a hybrid setting, 1-2 days in office, the rest remote. As you all know, the days fill up quickly with travel, meetings and requests internal, external, new partners etc. Fridays are usually off limits to schedule anything unless it’s super important or really no way to work around it. have you seen something, created or implemented a strategy/guideline that would free up more time? I know saying no more would help

I’m not naive or fresh out of law school, but I’m at a point where I’m saying to myself “Why can’t I have it all?” I’ve been offered a job for more pay and less hours and I keep thinking to myself, what’s the catch? I know people will say no promotion potential or that’s not how it works…but what if it could? What if you make yourself valuable by still setting your boundaries? Why would we resent someone who has that opportunity?

Which companies have best WLB, least stressed DS/DA roles? I’ve been suffering from some immunology issues and stress from work would worsen it, therefore I want to move to a company/role with good benefit (esp. healthcare) and great WLB (little chance of PIP, etc).
