Also just to add some positive to this thread, your friend will have an unparalleled experience working in D5’s comms department than any other agency’s comms department. It’s one of (if not the) oldest and largest comms departments in the industry. While other agencies are only just catching on and building creative comms, maybe having a handful of people in their departments, droga’s is very established and has a lot of experience figuring out what works/what doesn’t.
it's a rocket ship in terms of skill/taste growth and networking at the cost of work/life balance. you learn how high the bar can be. as always, depends on your manager, the account, and how hard you're willing to push yourself.
Honestly like any other department, it’ll depend on the account they’re on. I’ve worked in the comms department for years and at times it’s been crazy, others super manageable. It all ebbs and flows
I mean there are too many to mention but an account like Facebook is going to be a lot more crazy than an account like Essentia
It’s only the creative dept that get worked over and even then it’s no worse than what you get at any other creative shop in Ny
I’m sayin all of those places have same level of workload n pressure, no better or worse
Thanks team!
