Find something else before you leave unless you can afford not to. I’ve done it. Just put consulting on your resume to fill the gap and don’t include the short stint on your resume or LinkedIn.
On contract is a GOOD ASS SPIN SIS!!!!!!
I’m curious as to how you found you job with the current job market if you don’t mind sharing? There is nothing wrong with leaving a job earlier if it is significantly impacting your mental health and you have the means to so do. You could even leave it off your resume if it’s that short of a stint
First of all, I’m proud of you for walking away from a job in the name of your wellbeing. I have done that as well as left a job in less than a year. And what I always remind myself is (1) you know best what you need - and you’re already clear that it’s not working for you. (2) Even if those roles weren’t right for you, you are employable and you have proof because you keep getting hired. That said, do what you can to make sure your finances are suited for a departure so you *know* you have the option to leave whenever, make a plan / interview / line the next thing up if you can, and go for it.
I have literally been here. I also went 1099 (contract) work. It has its pros and cons. However as a “spin” I would definitely do it
How did you like the contract work because I’m thinking about trying it for a stent to pocket a lot of money at one time type of thing
I left a job about six months and that was the fastest time I ever left a job, but I worked for the company for 10 years so I didn’t count that time to my résumé but anyways, I mean I left because I felt like the manager did not value meand I was tired of sharing my opinion for it to not mean anything and it did eventually work out, but it did take a moment like another year and in my new role I’m still not happy. I’ll probably try something else but that’s all you have to do is try something else. Don’t be afraid because the regret is worse.
