I know exactly how you feel. There's some sense of familiarity and comfort in smaller, more intimate restaurants. Yeah, it would be exciting to work somewhere that was really buzzing and popular. But I like my little second home 😊
I've had similar experiences when I've gone to events at big venues. If you're in a huge catering hall or a hotel ballroom it can feel pretty intimidating. When I get back to my normal routine I'm glad I'm not working in a place like that, I'd feel like an ant in a giant colony.
I actually really envy some of my coworkers who work at our smaller location, so I've had the exact opposite experience as you. It seems like the smaller locations have a better relationship with regular customers and there's just a lot more solidarity it always seems. I'm jealous of that more intimate vibe.
I have had that expereince before. Sometimes it is nice to come back to what is familiar. Especially when you feel out of place.
