Let's just look on the bright side . Consumers are starting to take videos and call out bullshit. Dude is going to ca$h out and United is going to spin the F out of this
There's no need to break a guys face to get him off a plane if he's resisting. Unless you are a mentally damaged law enforcement officer with repressed anger issues
United is going to make a great new client for some PR agency. You can do almost ANYTHING and it couldn't make this disaster worse.
seriously.
Who gets fired for this by the way? Hopefully airlines will start offering more cash for bumping people now. Deadspin had a great summary today.
I'm hoping shit like this will force airlines take service more seriously.
Dude isn't going to cash out because he was breaking the law. Doesn't matter how ludicrous the request is: but when an airline crew member asks you to get up and off a plane, you comply. If you dont comply you are breaking Title 49 (chapter 46504) of FAA law, interfering with the performance of crew members. Airlines are following FAA law in scenarios like this. People don't realize.... you have VERY few rights when you fly. You are in government airspace and FAA law is not taken lightly. If an airline employee asks you to do something like leave, you get to steppin. I don't condone the police using excessive force like this, but that passenger had become irate and refused to leave (that part is conveniently left out of all of the media reports) if you ever refuse to leave a plane after being told to leave the police will be called and yes, force CAN be used. Keep that in mind next time you think you have any rights onboard an aircraft.
Hmmm so here the issue. The airline decided to randomly chose 4 passengers. If a Dr has patients to see in the morning then let him. There is no way on God green earth that he is not going to get money for the emotional distress. United has already apologized. The police officer have been put on suspensions. People are boycotting..at the end of the day they grab a Asian American Doctor off a plane and caused him bodily harm that lead to multiple bruises and loss of blood. Ca$$$$$&h out
Won't happen. There's more to the story that the media is not reporting on. Namely the disruption that the passenger caused BEFORE any cameras were rolling. The airlines reserve the right to deny ANYONE at ANYTIME and if you don't comply, you are breaking the law. Sorry charlie, doesn't matter what your profession is, your race, nothing. It's a PR disaster for sure, but this shit has been happening for decades. It's just that there are cameras everywhere nowadays. (I come from a family whose parents both have worked for the airlines for 4 decades. The law is the law, ESPECIALLY FAA law.).
I agree. Hence why he was put on leave.
Sounds like FAA law is about to get an update.
United CEO showed some BP level class in his 2 (!!!!!!) messed up responses. Get the parachute ready for that dude.
