It's okay.
I stayed at my job too long because I had a good gig, good pay, decent flexibility, but what I really wanted was to stay home with my baby. I don't know how you're feeling and could be projecting, but I wouldn't keep working if one of your main reasons is just "it may be too challenging to re-enter the workforce later." Something always works out, and if you have the option and desire to stay home, go for it!

Do you have at least 6 month of emergency money saved up?
We do, but we're planning to dip into savings some while single income. Also the stress of trying to sell our old house which is tying up some of our money.
It’s ok
It’s ok! Also for what it’s worth, ey gave me extra unpaid admin leave when I wasn’t ready to come back and then I slowly came back. It was more flexible than I thought
Unfortunately, I'm not at EY anymore. Current company is not the most flexible beyond their general hybrid schedule. I plan to give notice after leave period, but under the condition that I can work remotely. Husband will hopefully be able to stay home with kids while I'm working remotely in that time.
You’re on to something with this market 🙈, but only you know your limit on what you can take. Burnout is real, so if you feel like your wellness, or family dynamic is at stake, it will be okay in the long run.
