Some UK companies shifting to 4 day weeks, no pay cuts. I’d be willing to do 4/10 hour days if it meant permanent 3 day weekends. Thoughts ?

Same since I already do 10 hour days anyway

like

I can’t do 10 hour days with a baby at home. I can barely do 8.

like

Then it should be optional, where you can still work 5 8’s

like

Unless chargeable hours drop, it makes no difference. On top of the mandatory 2 or 3 days in the office nonsense, it's like RSM wants people to quit

like

I saw the Canadian charge hours, such are comparatively lower. No idea why

We already have flex Fridays outside of busy season so not sure how much this really changes things in the US. Especially as a manager I have full autonomy to structure my week however I really please, but generally opt for 4 9's and a half day Friday.

like

So sorry everyone I was mistaken, it was actually Focus Fridays that were implemented nationally. Basically a rule to not have internal meetings that day. I got it confused with flex Fridays, probably since my office already allows flex weeks outside busy season

I’m begging for a 4 day work week. Idc if I have to work 12 hours.

As long as clients still work 5 days / week, we will be expected to be available all of those days. Even though RSM is closed 12/23-1/2, we’re expected to make sure sure our clients aren’t left wanting since they’re still at work…

Why can’t the clients work 4 days as well?

funny

Seems kind of tough to make work in client service?

4**

I’m just gonna keep “remotely working 40 hours a week” when I only spend about 10-15 hours of week doing work while I get praised for how much of a hard worker and efficient worker I am.

I have not done a single piece of work since 11/16 except send emails and have had 0 complaints

For me it doesn’t do anything for my work life balance. I have kids and have daycare/school drop offs and pickups for certain times along with after school sports and activities. I modified my hours and also cut back because I just needed something more functional. I don’t mind others having the option to work 4 10s but I wouldn’t be able to manage it if it became mandated for me.
