Buy buy baby coupons (note bed bath and beyond coupons also work there)
Costco or BJs for wipes and diapers. Store brand wipes work great. No need for the fancy ones.
Luvs diapers work well also and are cheaper than other name brands.
Babies don't need Nike sneakers. Ever.
Walmart and Kohl's for clothes. If your smart you can get end of season clearance clothes for the next year if you can guess the size correctly.
A Wipe warmer is one of the stupidest waste of money I have seen.
No need for dreft detergent. I use Persil for all the kids clothes. Cleans better and much cheaper.
I have never paid more than $100 for a stroller or car seat.
Costco or Amazon or Walmart

Use your baby registry to buy some of the expensive stuff. The consumables aren’t really that expensive unless you’re getting the super fancy stuff or overdoing it. Eg, we bought a three pack of berts bees bath soap and we still haven’t used the first bottle 3 months in. We only do baby’s laundry once per week, clean any super dirty clothes (blow out poops) by hand that day
Oh and congrats!
Thanks everyone, really nice of you all to give advice. We had the baby Friday night and baby and mommy are doing well. A1/2 I promise we won’t any any north face gear. But if he doesn’t wear Nikes and Carter’s outfits how is going to look cooler than the other babies? 🤔
OP what the heck was the point of having the baby if you aren’t going to dress him/her up in super cute clothes, and especially on Halloween and the holidays???
Cut out booze since you’ll be too tired
To have more than a drink at a time
- Take all the supplies you can from the hospital; empty the room, then ask for more.
- Target diapers are top rated and about half the price of Costco (which is what we use). We like the Costco wipes, but some complain they aren't plush enough.
- Make sure you get the Amazon prime box - free after buying $10 off your Amazon registry, and includes a $35 swaddle blanket and a bunch of samples.
- We got a Gracco jogger + car seat open box from Amazon for about $150. Best purchase.
- Changing pad liners are amazing. They save you from changing the cover frequently.
- Amazon brand (Mama Bear) baby detergent is cheaper than Dreft and imho works better
- Buy a crib that converts to a toddler bed. Spent $200 on a basic crib + mattress from IKEA and don't regret it one bit.
A1 - preach to my family please. Car seat and stroller I am willing to compromise on. I shelled out $$$ for those as my comfort is also impacted significantly due to the weight and maneuverability of the items. Besides that the clothes and diapers can be simple. Don’t need new born carters outfits which the kid will outgrow in a week....
Carters I can deal with. It's the Northface coats for 3 month olds that bothers me.
Hand me downs are the best.
...2nd hand are the most advertised items since most baby items have a short use span
