Why not work remote and couch surf? Live it up while you can.
🤣🤣 not bad
Moving from NoVa to Los Angeles was the best decision I ever made. Highly recommend!
Also from NoVa, and when COVID hit I moved straight to the beach. Now moving down to Miami. COVID might be the best thing that’s ever happened to me from a location perspective. I highly recommend getting out of the DC bubble for a few years to reset.
It’s like breathing fresh air (maybe not literally speaking). Loved my time outside of the area!

NOVA/DC is great but SoCal is way more fun. Most places seem less desirable after a weekend in LA lol
Fair point haha
Come live in SD, life is easy here!
Seriously considering it!

Really? I always thought northern va/DC area was a very desirable place to live
It’s definitely great to raise a family, and wine country is nice, but other than that there’s not a whole lot going on. Weather is also hit or miss in most seasons. Traffic is pretty bad. Lots of road construction but it basically looks the same after several decades of patchwork. Politics is draining. It’s much more expensive now than it used to be. Job market is fairly stable. Definitely pros and cons, but I want to be near the beach for some sun. If there isn’t sand lodged in my laptop keys I’ve done something wrong in life.

Then ask serious questions. This isn't one of those. You probably could've worked remotely from SD, but instead you choose to fly across the US.
I don’t get the whole allure of LA to people who are not trying to be in the film industry or a musician…but San Diego I totally get. My question is if you are that depressed being back in the DC area then why are you even asking your question and not just trying to think through how to move to either city? If there is ever a time for a move like that, it’s now.
SD is beautiful but 🥱 and only a 2 hr drive from LA

Hahaha this is why I moved from nova to LA 😌
Move to the west asap. The east coast is overrated and everything is harder or takes extra steps. Unless you have serious obligations what’s stopping you?
Pedialyte.
California is broken don’t come, most sane folks are looking to escape
Fully agree, M2! I can’t wait to move back to SoCal.
That said, wouldn’t be mad if they made it easier to build density in downtown cores, as the market is quite hot and there’s not enough supply
From NOVA, didn’t move to LA but moved to NYC and I am so happy I did. You should just say f it and make the move!!
