Design: Condesa df in Mexico City. Liked it a lot, more than the nearby St. Regis. Service at St Regis is better though
This question was too hard for big 4
Loved the Vana Belle in Koh Samui. Each room has an infinity pool
Vans belle in koh Samit also luxury collection
Prince de Galles in Paris was fantastic
Prince de galled is also luxury collection. This is why MBB can charge a premium. Amazing
11 Mirrors in Kiev! Fantastic property and service (think heated bathroom floors)
Hotel Marques de Riscal
Marques has its own winery and vineyard and the hotel is art. SPG knows what its doing
Marques de Riscal is luxury collection.
Hmmm - i don't even look at the strange inconsistent sub-brands, good to know though
Marques is fine. I was there a few weeks ago. Nice property, lovely area. Wife loved it but I wasn't blown away by rooms (we had a nice suite) or service. Solid breakfast
Tribute is the tough brand
On Tribute - Heard Riviera Palm Springs is a run down dump. I'm checking out Avenue of the Arts Costa Mesa in a month.
Isn't that just Spain though? - for value Le Meridien Ra in the villa can't be topped. Rooms are solid but its the amenities and area, like a winery or michelin chef that I love, but I haven't found great service anywhere in Spain, no ones ever in a rush. They do take their time and do a great job on cocktails, especially gin. They all have great breakfast, jamon and manchego first think
10 bompas in joburg was amazing - it's a design hotel
Nice that there's a good option in Joburg now. Used to just be the Sheraton in nearby Pretoria
11 Howard in Manhattan is pretty nice
Thanks K1 - that's the design one I am eyeing
Yeah 11 Howard was quite nice but outlets were a little difficult to reach when I stayed right after they opened. They said it had been brought to their attention before so maybe they've fixed it since. Have also stayed at the Excelsior Hotel Gallia in Milan -- pretty and with a great view of Milano Centrale but completely nonfunctional (everything designed for looks not use) and overly perfumed
