Starting a new position in a few weeks. I was fortunate I started my current job before the pandemic, so I was able to build relationships. Given the nature of my position, which involves business development, I am a little concerned about not being able to interface with my customers and colleagues in person. Zoom can never replace walking the hallway. Are we at the point where the hallway is virtual?

Immigration lawyers had sent me a questionnaire to fill out for Manager PERM. They now just came back saying that they need to assess me for a different position. Anyone else experience this? I wonder if this means they’ll now just file a Senior Perm instead? Asked them but they’re not very responsive.

I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. Also, I have an idea of what I should be compensated in this type of role, but any insights on how they pay compared to others would be helpful. Are you traveling during the pandemic or have client interactions been virtual? Lastly, if you are a consultant here, are you on billable hours? My current consulting role is not - so this would be new.

A smaller hedge fund is very interested in my friend for their Asst Controller position where the work would be more interesting for them but the organization structure is flat and brand recognition is lower.

How much of a salary increase should they be looking for to jump. Another point is that they've been at their current position for almost 1 year.
