Starting with a Big 4 consulting firm in 3 months & this bowl’s threads have served as guidance more than once, so thanks to all the members! I am looking for advice on skills to pick up from a technical perspective before starting, have been going over Excel/PowerPoint, but would really appreciate insights on what gives recent joiners a smooth transition to work?

I think the hardest skills are the soft skills- how to write good emails, how to speak to clients etc. mostly learned by doing but can definitely start thinking about this before you join

What do you think are the pros and cons of working at a large insurance company vs. a small one? Considering a jump from big (been with a few carriers for ~15 years) to much smaller but growing.

I work in Group Insurance if that makes a difference.

Regarding AI, I find this field fascinating but I feel like it requires a lot of experience, degrees and diplomas.

I work heavily in AWS and am looking to learn another cloud platform. I have zero knowledge of azure and gcp and would like input on which to learn. Azure would make sense since its the second largest in terms of market share, but GCP seems far more interesting and technically challenging with things like Kubernetes and BigQuery.
