Read Emotional Survival for Law Enforcement by Kevin Gilmartin. It will explain why that is happening. Also learn some “resiliency” stuff like breath work, mindfulness, etc. The trust me, it would be worth your effort.
I used to be like you. But it’s not worth it. The best way to remain sane, I find is, to cut the job off my mind when I leave the building. It always will be part of your (my) personality but it is healthier and very important to keep it under control and separate it from home life.
