Hey fam,
Any advice on what and how to prepare for the final loop interview for a PM position for Amazon.
I have prepared 2-3 stories for each of the LPs. I am not sure how many rounds of interviews to expect and the type of questions.
I know the BR is going to be behavioral, but the others will they be Behavioral or product based or a mix of both? If some one has gone through the experience, can you please share what it was like. TIA! 🙏
Hello Sharks, I recently gave interview of Tiger Analytics and after all successful technical discussion, they were offering me Senior analytics - data Science role for 15.5 fixed + 2L jb, considering my current yoe 4.3 and in data science relevant is not much(consider it 1.5+) but my cctc is 14(13fixed+1 variable), I denied to accept this offer. Should I reconsider that?

This may just be me but I would never want to move to another firm via a cold job application process. You need people who know you already to support you and if you don’t have at least a small network when you land it will be very hard to be successful.
I have a whole bunch of friends and colleagues that work across tech, Big4, small/large SIs, MBB, etc. and that is how I find new opportunities. This has been from years of working in my industry, being good at what I do and the #1 reason is being someone who people want to work and hang out with.
TL;DR build a network to get good opportunities don’t apply blindly to job postings.
I 100% echo what P1 said. Interestingly enough I’ve seen at least 3 instances of really compelling senior jobs being recruited and landed by folks via LinkedIn in the last 2 years in my network. So it’s not complete a waste of time it seems.
90% of LI job postings are fake. I'm guessing mainly to satisfy a regulatory requirement for a visa holder or PERM for someone already tagged to the role.
For Partner jobs they tend to find you, or another partner pulls you in
By the time jobs are posted on LinkedIn there have already been 100+ people who apply to them. Wondering if this is a ploy for them to get you to buy the premium subscription. If in fact 100s of people have already applied the probability of being picked for an interview goes down let alone get hired. Wonder if AI scans the resumes for keywords matching the JD
Best to go via networks or friends of friends. That way you not only get some support for if/when you make the transition but you also get intel on what it’s really like at the new place and how to navigate the politics / team dynamics.
Actually - shouldn’t McKinsey have one of the best networks for helping you with your search given all the alumni?
Often it is easier to find a job through a LI add as there is real need for the role than just ask around your network for a job.
I have had success with posted roles on LI, but only if I put in the work after that. Reaching out to recruiters, possible peers, potential hiring managers with a tight pitch on why they should talk to me. Even that is less successful these days though. Network is definitely the best option.
I have gotten tons of headhunter and recruiter pings on LinkedIn for Partner roles elsewhere. They’ll find you.
Agree with the comment that Partner jobs will find you.
I get recruiter pings. But never applied for a job posting, no matter how compelling it may have seemed. No time for that. Like others said, there will be 100s of applicants. If they want me, they will find me 😀
Why would you as a McKinsey partner be cold applying??? That’s suspect… McKinsey partners have plenty of demand and network
We all openly talk about leaving all the time…
