My husband and I visited for a long weekend recently. There are 3 things I highly recommend ( you will need a car)
- trip to lake Travis. It was just so gorgeous and calm, we loved every minute of it
- we drove around the city and created a ‘scavenger hunt’ for ourselves - hunting down the most famous murals Austin has. Street art is big in Austin, and we discovered so much!
- food trucks! The Austin food truck culture had me reeling with so many options! There are cute food truck parks all across the city. Most have 4-6 trucks in each. We had a blast finding recommended ones and eating our way through the city
Good luck! I’d love to know what all you guys end up doing.
This is cool depending on how you feel about bats. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.houstontx.gov/parks/batpage.html&ved=2ahUKEwiqy6vQxuLhAhUKRK0KHf6oCiAQFjAhegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw1RZJWmCbPOduSZ_rj2jXA3
Oasis for sure
Go to the brunch buffet at Fonda San Miguel. Drive on highway 360 and hike through some of the watering holes. Visit the Chuys restaurant for Tex Mex. check out Zilker Park and the natural spring water pool. 6th street and Raini street, the Warehouse district.
Too cold for the bats right now..
I saw some recently. You gotta do wild flowers. I believe there are tulips around too. Poteet could be a potential place right now
