Is the CVA exam worth pursuing?
I met someone and their son is a director at Morgan Stanley. He told me to give him a call and potential have a talk about working there . How are Morgan Stanley advisors compensated. I ask because I left another firm and they have tried to charge me charge backs on commissions that have come back.

I'd suggest you consider it if your departing firm has a claims-made policy. I bought coverage years ago when I moved. You're insuring the gap after your prior firm drops you from coverage - which generally occurs upon your exit. Your new firm's policy only covers claims made for work you performed after you join. So if a claim is made for work you performed while at the old firm but that claim is asserted later, that's the gap that will be uninsured absent a tail.
If the new firm picks up your coverage you do not need tail.
At partner level plus moving a book? Most definitely unless P1 is correct.
P1 - I’m not sure that’s true. I’d confirm with a few brokers.
